The Commando Experience is a mixture of military skills and survival training delivered by serving and ex Royal Marine Commando’s in order to give the participants a realistic experience of commando training. The course is delivered at a purpose built centre nestled in the hills of the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire with woodland, bunkers, open terrain and battle training areas. The centre specialises in battle situation gaming and uses laser weapons to give the participant a real experience of battle.
The Commando Experience course is designed to encompass some of the skills taught in Royal Marines basic training including topics such as camouflage and concealment, firing and manoeuvring, ambushing the enemy, close and long range target reconnaissance all centred around a survival exercise; this exercise will introduce the participant to a range of survival skills namely the principles of survival alongside fire lighting, improvised shelter building, trapping and hunting, safe water collection and cooking over an open fire.
